Starz Tipz®
Key Features

5 STAR Air Water Syringe Tips PERFORMANCE

From their unique 6-Air Channel design, to their compatibility with metal air water syringe tips and Starz flexibility, Starz Tipz® outperform the competition by providing 100% air/water separation – instantly, and with a powerful dental air and dental water spray.

TWO-PIECE CONSTRUCTION: Made with FDA-Approved plastic, Starz Tipz’ two-piece construction ensures complete air/water separation. Just like a metal air water syringe tip, the air flows through the outer channels. Water spray is through the inner core, which seats into the dental air water syringe, thus providing complete and instant separation of air and water. NEVER AGAIN WORRY ABOUT CLEARING WATER OUT OF THE AIR CHANNELS BEFORE PROCEDURES.
BEVELED EDGES: Beveled edges at both ends of Starz Tipz®, ensure patient safety and also prevent excessive wear and tear on the O-Rings. If you use your air water syringe tips for retraction, you’ll never have to be concerned about patient comfort, or accidentally cutting the inside of your patient’s cheek.
INCREASED FIELD OF VIEW: Most autoclavable air water syringe tips are very large and rather obstructive. Switching to Starz Tipz® will help you see more and work easier. Our sleek, streamline design delivers all of the performance you require, without the added bulk or unwieldy characteristics of regular air water syringe tips.
6 AIR CHANNELS: Generate a powerful dental air flow and when used in conjunction with water spray, create a superior atomization.
O-RING NOTCH: O-Ring notch secures air water syringe tip in dental air water syringe, which prevents accidental ejection and possible water contamination in the air channels.”

more to say

Not only are Starz Tipz® the best disposable air water syringe tips in the universe, they’re the most colorful – 6 brilliant, sparkling colors – flexible, and available in two air water syringe tip profiles to respond to particular procedures and dentist, orthodontist, or hygienist preferences.

6 BRILLIANT GEMSTONE COLORS

Starz Tipz® come in six gemstone colors that any dentist, orthodontist, or hygienist will enjoy. The bright neon hues of our air water syringe tips are a hit with every office and their patients. Most of our doctors and hygienists order the Prizm Pak, an assortment of all six air water syringe tip colors. However, many have their favorites and ask only for those special colors.

YOU DECIDE, WE DELIVER!

THE MOST AGILE AIR WATER SYRINGE TIPS IN THE WORLD

Any dentist, orthodontist, and hygienist can get bent out of shape when their air water syringe tips leak, clog up, or they can’t comfortably and easily reach specific locations inside the patient’s mouth.

NOT ANYMORE

Starz Tipz® will get bent out for shape for you! Our unique two-piece construction and pliable plastic allow our air water syringe tips to be bent and hold shape without affecting dental air/water flow during difficult procedures in hard to reach areas.

It may look impossible, but the flow of air and the water spray is unaffected by the bends! And there is no leakage. So go ahead… get our tips bent out of shape. They can take it!

DUAL AIR CORE: Dual Air Core delivers a stronger, more focused dental air and dental water spray – ideal for cleanings and deep pocket testing.
SHORTER LENGHT: Shorter length is more similar to stock autoclavable air water syringe tips making transition to disposables more comfortable.
O-RING NOTCH: O-Ring notch secures air water syringe tip in dental air water syringe, which prevents accidental ejection and possible water contamination in the air channels.”

INTRODUCING STARZ TIPZ’ LITTLE AIR WATER SYRINGE TIPS BROTHER

Compact But Packs a Powerful Punch

Just one inch, or 2.54 cm shorter than Starz Tipz® original, the new HP air water syringe tips can offer a dentist, orthodontist, or hygienist an option that is more similar to stock European autoclavable air water syringe tips. The HP Tip’s Dual Air Core delivers a stronger, more focused spray. A dentist, orthodontist, or hygienist can opt for one style, or stock both profiles.
Pricing and the six brilliant colors are the same.

For pediatric patients – 30 mm shorter than Original for use with pediatric patients and for those who prefer to work closer to the target area.”

Starz Tipz FAQ

Why doesn't your air water syringe tip leak water into its air channels like Sani-Tip® or other proprietary air water syringe tips?

The main reason is that none of the air water syringe tips with proprietary air water syringe adapters have an inner core with a stem extension that is designed to fit snugly through an O-Ring in the syringe that ensures dental air and dental water separation. Without that extension, their air water syringe tips must have a perfect “friction” fit centered over the dental water channel in the air water syringe. It is almost impossible to have that secure fit without the stem and an O-Ring. Our air water syringe tip is designed to fit into an air water syringe (A-DEC® or DCI®) the way the air water syringe was manufactured – just like metal air water syringe tips.

I already agree that disposable air water syringe tips are better, but how is your air water syringe tip superior to a metal air water syringe tip functionally?

Two primary factors.

  1. Less wear and tear on O-Rings. Just like cutting a steak with a metal knife vs. a plastic knife. Less wear means the O-Rings will last much longer, preventing dental water contamination in the air channels, or leakage.
  2. We designed our air water syringe tip a bit differently than metal air water syringe tips. The dental air enters our air water syringe tip from the bottom, a direct feed from the dental air ducts of the air water syringe. Metal air water syringe tips typically have the air receptacle on the side, so the air flows up and then enters the dental air channel from the side, losing some of the pressure. Our direct feed offers superior air pressure.

What is the advantage of your "6 Air Channel" design?

Simple. We’ll use Safe-Tip EZ® air water syringe tips as an example. It has an inner core (like us) through which the dental water travels. All the air flows in a 360 degree round space between the inner and outer cores. By having 6 small air channels, the dental air is more concentrated and dispensed through each of the 6 channels, giving you a more focused spray through each channel. That equates to a more powerful dental air spray.

What is the advantage of your "Quad Air Core"?

The four air chambers deliver a moderate pressure and atomisation. They are preferably used for drying adhesives, sealants and for other fine procedures. The original tip (Quad Air Core) also enables a good access in the back molar area. The longer tip (95mm) can be bent, for difficult buccal or lingual treatments.

What is the feature of the HP tip?

With its 65mm length and double chambers, the High Pressure tip offers a stronger, focused spray effect – ideal for the cleaning and examination of deep pockets. It is 30mm shorter than the original tip, and good for the use with young patients and for the work closer to the treatment area. Shorter length similar to regular steam-sterilisable tips – therefore easier to switch to disposable tips.

But then there's the cost factor. Disposable air water syringe tips are more expensive than metal air water syringe tips.

Metal air water syringe tips cost money as well. There is a cost associated with the sterilisation procedures as well, and that cost rises as you reduce other metal instruments in favor of disposables. Dentist, orthodontist, and hygienist time, equipment costs, materials used in the process. Almost every office reports that metal air water syringe tips get flushed down sink drains and thrown in the trash with other waste. If your new metal air water syringe tip that has only been used twice is lost, that’s an expensive disposable tip. Metal tips become clogged with debris and lose their effectiveness. So, if you amortize all those costs over the average life of your metal tip, the cost difference for disposables is maybe a few pennies!

Is there any significance to the different colors?

Other than they are significantly prettier than any other tip, and are “FUN” for your staff and patients – no. We just want to brighten up your day!

Will this tip work on my syringe?

If you use Sani-Tip®, Seal-Tight, Pro-Tip Turbo® or RisKontrol®, you will need an adapter. The adapter used for our tips are interchangeable with autoclavable tips. This would bring your syringe back to it’s original format.

I used disposable tips before and the stem always broke off in my syringe. Your tip won't do that?

No. Our tip has a two-piece construction giving the stem more strength. Other tips are single-piece injection molded, making the stem very weak.

How can I be sure I am getting complete air/water separation with Starz Tipz®?

If your equipment is in good operating order, we guarantee 100% air/water separation. The Starz Tipz® O-Ring tip lock secures the tip into the syringe. The inner core seats perfectly into your syringe because it was designed to replace metal tips in standard dental syringes. In addition, Starz Tipz® translucent outer core allows you to see if water has leaked into the air chamber. However, 99% of all leakage issues are the result of worn O-Rings, improper installation of the tip, or from trying to insert the tip into a proprietary adapter.

Why doesn't Starz Tipz® require a special adapter like some other tips, including Sani-Tip®, Seal-Tight®, RisKontrol®, and Pro-Tip®?

Like most manufactured products, dental syringes work best when used as they were originally designed. After-market additions and alterations can often times void manufacturer warranties. When we developed Starz Tipz®, we felt it was important to retain the integrity of the original manufacturer’s syringe design. We also felt it was important to make an easy transition from metal tips, and to allow dentists the ability to switch back to a metal tip for certain procedures when they would be more comfortable using a sterilized tip. And, finally, we felt it would give us a competitive edge in the dental industry. Isn’t it easier to test a product when you don’t have to install a special adapter?

I would like to try Starz Tipz® before making a purchase commitment. How can I do this?

We wouldn’t have it any other way! Please call us, or fill out the Sample Request form in the Switch section of our web site. We will send you a sample pack of tips. If you are currently using a disposable tip that required a proprietary adapter, we will send you an adapter that will allow you to use Starz Tipz® and metal tips. Be sure to specify which type of syringe you are currently using. Our web site offers complete instructions on installing adapters. You can find that information in the Switch section or the Support section of the web site. Or always feel free to call our technical support staff.

I prefer purchasing all of my products only through my dealer, is this a problem for Starz Tipz®?

Not at all. Just as we offer our direct customers the best service in the dental industry, we strongly support all of our approved dealers/distributors. We provide them with all of the materials they need to help you make the right choice and switch to Starz Tipz®. However, if you are having any problems getting our tips from your distributor, please let us know so that we can rectify the situation, or fulfill your tip needs directly.
